The Introduction Session

Gilder finds himself as an assistant to a House Cannith blacksmith Boris D’Cannith in the lower regions of Sharn. Boris closes shop early to get ready for a party held by the House up in the Noble district known as Skyway and asks that Gilder come along just in case some Collection Agents of House Kundarak make their presence known.

Tom is a recent arrival to Sharn and walking around she hears a halfling cry out for help as goblin had stolen a large bag of pastries he was delivering. She sticks her leg out and watches as the guilty party tumbles head over tail smashing into a wall knocking himself clean out.

The Halfling works for House Ghallandra they have been employed by House Cannith to make sure tonight’s party in Skyway will not be forgotten in the near future. He offers her employment as a guard for tonight’s event and for her to meet him later tonight at the location.

Axle finds himself on assignment on behalf of his employer. His job is to infiltrate the party tonight and see what intelligence he can gather. After stealing another party goer’s invitation outside the gate he manages to get in quite easily.

At Morgrave University after a day of classes, The Amazing Agga’s mentor – Master Cromwell invites him as his quest to tonight’s event in Skyway. Later that night they meet up and take a skycab up to the district that floats above Sharn.

Glorrent D’Kundarak is a collections agent from the house of his namesake. His assignment is to collect payment from one Boris D’Cannith. Who he finds out is attending an invite-only gala tonight. But Glorrent has his invitation already – a writ of repossession on behalf of House Kundarak with the seal of the Kingdom of Breland.

The party is very obviously a show of wealth on behalf of House Cannith and not so much a birthday celebration. The famous local band “The FIddling Bards” are playing on the stage at the south end of the balcony. Local dignitaries and House members are hobnobbing nad taking advantage of the free bar and food. Agga while speaking with Master Cromwell and some other well-to-do’s, sees out of the corner of his eye party patrons running down a hallway covered in blood and entrails only to be drug back behind the wall clawing and screaming.

Out from the entrance hallway comes a mob of nameless undead ripping it’s way through the party goers trying to escape. Just off the East and West balconies, two elemental powered skiffs rise up each unloading a duo of Wight soldiers into the crowd. At the south side balcony right behind the Fiddling Bards, a Vampire Lord climbs over the railing and runs his blade through the torso of the Fiddling Bards’ singer. He makes the quip “He’s a little sharp..” and then yelling ” FIND IT!!” out to his crew of undead.

Glorrent and Tom quickly find themselves facing two of the Wight Soldiers by themselves. Tom fumbles with her fullblade for a bit while Glorrent made hasty work of them with his trusty axe.

Agga’s mentor had forgotten his spell book, so it was up to him to hold off the hallway full of undead. Agga pulls out every trick in his spell book, and despite a close call stops the horde of zombies form even making it out unto the balcony.

Gilder and Axle have the duty of not only dealing with two of the Wight soldiers, but the Vampire Lord himself. After a grueling fight they slay the Wights but not before the Vampire makes his escape, dropping a Holy Symbol of the Blood of Vol.

Afterwards while the city watch ropes off the crime scene for the investigation, Boris D’Cannith makes a temporary deal with Glorrent D’Kundarak, offering up the services of his warforged assistant Gilder in return for some more time to collect money to pay off his debt. Gilder begrudgingly agrees to this and offers up the idea of seeing his friend and trusted cleric Anvil the Rusty. He may be able to shed some light on what just happened.

The party pays Anvil a visit, and he informs them about the Blood of Vol and asks if he can keep the symbol and ask around the religious circles to see if anybody knows what Vol is looking for exactly. The party agrees to see this incident through and meet up with him tomorrow after a night of rest at the Bloated Goat.

After much waylaying in the morning, they make their way to the worn down temple of Onatar where Anvil resides. they find him sitting on the front pew and he asks them to join him. After sitting the party down he tell them “I’m sorry” and then a woman who identifies herself as Inquisitor Tennant from the Church of the Silver Flame arrives, but not without a few paladins at her side. She informs them that the reason they were attacked was because Gilder is in possession of Vol’s phylactery. Confused Gilder explains that he has no such item, and she informs him that Vol’s phylactery is actually part of him and in order to destroy Vol, they need to destroy him.

Tennant commands her paladins to attack, and after a short skirmish Agga casts a spell that made things more difficult than they needed to be. Inquisitor Tennant made a quick getaway leaving her paladins behind to be dealt with by the party.
